What We Do

Trustee Education
CCM Advisors believes that the success of an investment policy requires not just good investment results, but also a complete understanding of the investment process. Our team works with non-profit boards to build consensus on the risk profile and asset allocation. This process may include presentations at board meetings, calls with board members and distribution of educational materials.

We begin work on drafting an investment policy statement only after we are confident that the board members understand and are in agreement with the guidelines that are being proposed.

Asset Allocation
CCM Advisors creates an asset allocation model taking into account any grant making characteristics, income needs and appropriate risk level for the institution. We use computer simulations to project acceptable solutions to achieve the client’s investment needs. CCM Advisors does not have preconceived notions about the “right” asset allocation and will work with the board to create an allocation model that truly fits.

Manager Selection
When researching investment management organizations, CCM Advisors conducts thorough due diligence. We look at all aspects of a business, from its organization and professional staff through its investment approach, decision making and investment performance. Our due diligence approach is customized for each asset class we review to properly identify the most suitable managers for our clients’ assets.

Ongoing Reporting and Supervision of Assets
The same criteria that we use for initial manager selection is also used for our ongoing review of selected managers. CCM Advisors staff will review investment managers for any changes in their organization, style drift or overlap with other investments of the client. Customized reports are provided to clients every quarter. The reports show information on each investment manager and consolidated data for the total portfolio, including current asset allocation vs. targets and performance for the total portfolio.
